Nonprofit Management and Leadership
1 hour 5 minutes
Learn how leadership can make a major difference in successfully delivering critical services to your community.
The best nonprofit staff, volunteers, and board members are driven by their organization’s mission. That’s why it’s easy to overlook how much internal and external leadership can make a major difference in successfully delivering critical services to your community. This course will discuss personal and organizational leadership. It starts with an examination of what you’ll lead: a nonprofit organization and the meaningful differences between nonprofits and businesses. Then the material moves from internal staff leadership to leadership in your finances and programs. These are tied together through a discussion of your nonprofit as a recognized leader in your community for the mission you serve. You will be given an integrated view of nonprofit leadership and, with that, a blueprint of how to move from a well-intended group to a recognized authority in your mission specialty.
• You will be able to describe how marketing is essential to community leadership in a nonprofit’s program niche.
• You will be able to discuss how taking financial leadership impacts a nonprofit’s ability to provide trusted services in a community.
• You will be able to explain the difference between nonprofits and businesses.
• You will be able to identify internal leadership strategies to move their nonprofit forward.
